Millions of Tatanka (Buffalo) roamed the Plains. After the mid 1890s, there were only a few hundred left after years of great slaughter. This piece is dedicated to the Buffalo Spirits.
Real buffalo cow skull, painted with acrylic paints to represent Unci Maka (Mother Earth), decorated with real feathers, leather and beads. Attached to wood covered in black faux tooled leather and 1" acrylic painted ceramic tiles.
